The Oboro and the Cursed BladeEdit

Hirukos death

The Oboro strike down Hiruko

72 years ago, the Oboro Clan have fought with a powerful enemy, the heretical Onmyoji named Hiruko Ubusuna and the demonic giant Yatsurao. Hiruko attempted to rule the world through his cursed rituals and the demonic katana known as Akujiki ; the Evil Eater, an ancient eldritch parasite that feeds upon the Yin of the slain or will devour the soul of its host if denied. Together the Oboro destroyed Yatsurao defeated Hiruko, and stole Akujiki from him.

They charged the Ubusuna family; a family related to the deceased Hiruko Ubusana, with guarding his body inside the Kumano shrine and prevent anyone who would from trying to release him. The Oboro were guarding the sword Akujiki . They built a tradition that each of the oldest heirs of the clan's bloodline, through a test of battle, will become the wielder of Akujiki and the new leader of the Oboro Clan, while the defeated's Yang would nullify Akujiki and place it back into stasis.

The sealing duel

Hotsuma and Moritsune duel for succession

72 years later, The Oboro Clan held a ritual test of battle to test 2 new candidates for the position of leadership within the clan. The first warrior was the young ninja Hotsuma. The second was his brother Moritsune, who was once scarred by Akujiki when they were children as he saved Ageha's life from the demon blade that would have killed her and claimed her soul. The two brothers fought and Hotsuma won, but at the cost of his brother's life. Heartbroken, Hotsuma closed himself off emotionally.

Four years later since Hotsuma left his clan, a huge earthquake struck Oboro Clan and a mysterious fortress called the Golden Palace appeared in the center of the capital city. In the midst of the chaos present were legions of demons known as the Hellspawn rampaging through the city streets and killing people. They soon attacked the village of the Oboro Clan as part of the plan of a self-proclaimed sorcerer who revealed himself to the Oboro's long dead sworn enemy Hiruko. Hiruko would soon revive them and control them as puppets and made them turn against their leader, Hotsuma. Hotsuma arrived in Tokyo to battle the Hellspawn creatures and avenge the deaths of his clan. Hotsuma soon confronts and defeats the 4 powerful Hellspawn Lords who slew all the members of the Oboro Clan. He later saved Kagari Ubusuna, a young shrine maiden whose family was related to Hiruko and she was about to be sacrificed in order to unwillingly revive her ancestor's ultimate weapon, Yatsurao.

After he defeated both the tragic traitor Ageha and her possessed lover Moritsune, Hotsuma made his way to the Golden Palace and finally fights in the final battle with the newly empowered Hiruko who was transformed from an old man into a teenage boy with his magic powers increased dramatically after absorbing the Yin of the defeated Yatsurao. Hiruko was beaten by Hotsuma and his soul with all that tremedous power was absorbed into Akujiki before

Kagari performs a ceremony called the "Ariake Seal" and breaks the cursed blade Akujiki and thus scattered its pieces to create a Yang powered barrier to ward off the Hellspawn menace. RanksEdit

As with all traditional ninja clans, the Oboro Clan is divided into three ranks, which follow under the Senpei (Clan Leader). The three ranks are Genin, Chunin, and Jonin.

When a ninja becomes a Toushu (頭首;meaning Clan Leader, Clan Elder, Master, or even Grandmaster, depending on the clan itself), they are the ones who give orders, assign missions, host rituals, and even organize clan traditions for the other ranks to follow. Clan leaders also often recruit and mentor other ninja.

Jōnin (上忍 meaning upper-level ninja) is a highest rank of ninja, swerving under the Senpei. Those giving this rank are the ones who represent the clan by often providing assistance to the leaders, instructing the lower ranks, and carrying out missions.

The second rank is the Chūnin (中忍" middle-level ninja"). The rank of the chunin is to provide close assistance to the jōnin, act as field agents and spies, carry out missions, and relay messages to the lower rank.

At the bottom of the ranks are the Genin (下忍 "lower-level ninja"). This is the beginning rank given to those who join the clan. The role of the genin mainly consists of being field agents, spies, carrying out actual missions, and enduring harsh training assigned by the jonin and senpei.
